Literature Text
Under the spotlight of the moon,
They traced constellations on the ground.
Mirroring the flight of the heavens divine
Heartbeats synchronized in still standing time
Poetry echoed in a sky full of dreams.
A rush of blood-A mute pause;
two breaths held for an undecipherable cause
But their feet didn't stop and they danced on,
leaving the rest of the story, to be inked by the stars.
A quanta of solace was all they had
No men, no women, nor blazing cars.
Their conversation was now composed in music bars;
The silent symphony of Venus and Mars.

The Music We Make
I feel your heart
Beating softly with mine
A pure harmony
Burrowing deep inside
Crescendos and allegros—
intertwining mirrors of our
actions, your baritone echoing my alto,
our hearts the metronome to the rhythms
of our voices lifted raised in the wordless
music of our song.
Though I don’t know the words
I merely sing the melody
letting the beating of our
hearts slowly lead me
to the words waiting inside
The cavernous organ where words
coalesce and convalesce, unearthing
phrases yet unspoken and thoughts
undisclosed…our song—my song and
your song, two favorites written and
recorded as night stretches unending

Secondhand Moonlight
A dingy harem, scattered with junkies,
Stinking of lust and dusty Forget-Me-Nots
A black-veiled, crimson-lipped beauty
Night-haired and spacey-eyed
Purple painted nails laced with cigarette smoke
And a stubby cigarette laced with moonlight
Skulks to my side and burns a hand on my thigh
Age is creeping up her legs
And her panties smell of other men
And a bold-faced tattoo of last month's rent
Is stamped across her feverish forehead
Paper-thin desperation and two mouths to feed with a top hat on top
But the champagne tastes like honey and smells like jazz
You want to dance, Baby Girl?
So I jive with the Shadows and their Whores

Could I Send You The Stars
Can I send you the stars?
A million twinkling lettters
Waiting above your head each night to be read
In gentle melody like midnight lullabies
For the girl I dearly wish could hear them.
Can I borrow your moon?
I know without it your nights may feel empty
But I envy its lovely radiance shining
Upon those two eyes
I wish I could see wish I could gaze into
So instead could I borrow your Moon?
And gaze into it hoping I'll find the loveliness
Of your eyes there instead.
Could I steal your Sun?
And pocket it's millions
And millions of memories
Of lightly caressing you with its rays
Knowing the feel of every beautifully delicate
Part of you
